Search for accomodation in North Rhine Westphalia
Over the next few days the search starts for private accommodation with guest families within the district church of North Rhine Westphalia. In a circular to the congregations of the Ruhr District, District Apostle Armin Brinkmann writes, ‘the majority of the EYD-visitors will stay the night in the youth camp within the exhibition halls in Düsseldorf. But over and above that, accommodation needs to be found for some further 12,000 participants.’
The aim is to find private lodgings for the youth in order to establish contacts between youth and guest families as well as their congregations. Should there be not enough places available, the native guests as well as those from abroad will be put up in youth hostels, schools and sports halls. The responsibility for this lies with the project group (PG) Accommodation, under the leadership of Helmut Manthey.
50 kilometer around Düsseldorf
“Already last year a questionnaire was running across NRW, where many brethren acknowledged their willingness to take in guests”, reports District Evangelist Manthey. The Orga-Team however, decided to locate the accommodation for the youth within a radius of 50km around Düsseldorf, which will avoid long journeys during the events. “Now we ask more precisely and need specific details for possible accommodation.”
This circular will be read out within the 18 districts across the Ruhr District on two Sundays at the beginning of August. For this purpose plenty of printed questionnaires have been made available. On top of this, it can be downloaded as a PDF-form, filled in on the PC and then be printed.
In closing District Apostle Brinkmann writes, ‘for your willingness and generosity in supporting this unique youth day 2009, I thank you from the bottom of my heart and wish you also much personal joy out of this.
