The responsibilities of a group leader
Group leaders must register young people for the European Youth Day through EJOS (EYD Online System), collect participants‘ contributions, organise travel arrangements, distribute passes to participants, and are the point of contact for the organisers: group leaders perform a key role during the European Youth Day. What are their exact duties, and what responsibilities do they take on? The organisers answer these questions in a current publication.
More than anything else, the organisers have been constantly asked about liability and responsibility for the young people in their group, particularly with regard to the participation of minors. Therefore, the areas of responsibility and liability in particular, have been legally examined.
Usual responsibilities applies also to the European Youth Day
The main point is that the legal responsibility usually pertaining to youth groups also applies to the European Youth Day. This conforms to the usual rules pertaining to legal responsibility, which are in force during the youth events held by the New Apostolic Church.
Furthermore, those holding legal responsibility are safeguarded from civil law suits during the European Youth Day by the organisers‘ third party insurance.
