At the end of May a post card promotion started off the countdown for the European Youth Day 2009 in Düsseldorf. Around 100.000 post cards, which will be distributed throughout the European congregations, highlight the launch of the official website www.ejt.2009.eu.

The front of the postcard displays the EYD-logo, combined with the German/English lettering ‘Europa-Jugendtag – European Youth Day’. The reverse of the card describes the mega event in 2009 in four languages – German, English, French and Russian, and invites the reader to visit the website with the sentence: ‘Have you heard, yet? Only two years to go to the European Youth Day. We’re online now. Looking forward to it!’

The post cards will be distributed to youth members throughout the European District churches, preferably in connection with youth services. In some of the German districts these post cards were already handed out last Sunday.

Most of the points on the agenda during the European Youth Day will actually be in two languages: German and English. The divine service at the LTU Arena – highpoint and conclusion of the EYD – shall be translated into 14 languages.
