Neuapostolische Kirche - 21. bis 24. Mai 2009 in Düsseldorf
News added 02/23/2008
The final participation fee has now been finalised!
The European district apostles have now agreed that the individual contribution towards attending the European Youth Day will be set at 95 Euro per person. The final decision was made in the district apostle meeting at the end of November and was announced by the planning committee in January. Everyone who wishes to participate in the European Youth Day will be required to pay the fee.
Those who attend will experience unforgettable days and receive full value for money. In addition to the 40,000 youth members from all over Europe, attendees will also have free access to the exhibition halls (and the program) and to the concert in the LTU arena. Furthermore, the planning committee offers accommodation during the three nights in special youth camps, private homes, and churches or in gyms. And last but not least there will be a full catering service in the exhibition halls. For journeys around Düsseldorf as well as the trips between the exhibition area and accommodation, the youth will obtain free rides by bus and train. Moreover there will be a greeting package provided on arrival in the congregations or the exhibition hall.
Only a small contribution to the entire cost
As the meals for the expected 40,000 participants will cost millions the 95 Euro is only a small contribution to the entire cost. Additionally there will be costs for hiring of the halls and the LTU arena, the cost for build-up, the technical equipment and many, many more items.
The district apostles have decided to keep the amount below 100 Euro so that as many members of the youth as possible can attend. In many congregations the youth have launched different fund raising activities to collect money for their journey to Düsseldorf and any additional costs.
Fair to all Youth
Another important note: In order to be fair to all youth the participation fee will be the same for every youth member. Those living nearby Düsseldorf will not require accommodation and therefore they have relatively low travel costs.
Registration will be carried out online and in groups from May 2008. Registration ends in January 2009, by which time the fee of 95 Euro will also have to have been paid.
Further information on the registration process will be published closer to the time.
