Donation for the youth of Albania

The youth from North Rhine-Westphalia have made a donation for the youth of Albania.

7,000 Euros was raised by the young people from the district of Krefeld. This sum will enable their brethren in faith of Albania to fly to Düsseldorf and so ease the way for them to take part in the European Youth Day.

The money was raised through many varied activities; for example the youth distributed leaflets, helped with gardening and held a trumpet concert. One highlight was a “rocking-chair reading” evening, where the audience were treated to the reading of various fairy tales and to musical renditions.

Various activities throughout the district

Many novel ideas were suggested by the youth to gather donation funds. They set about their fund-raising with joyful enthusiasm.

The absolute highlight was a charity concert by the youth of the district, under the motto “We are Europe”. Musical compositions were rendered in many European languages by the youth choir and by various soloists.

Proceeds: 7,000 Euros.

Donations made by the guests, the proceeds from the sale of food and drinks, as well as a generous donation from the circle of the district church senior citizens all greatly contributed to the final sum of 7,000 Euros.

The proceeds were placed at the disposal of Apostles Franz-Wilhelm Otten and Wilhelm Hoyer, who will hand them over to the youth of Albania. “I am delighted with the activity of the brethren of Krefeld and am certain that our young people in Albania will be absolutely elated by the action,” said Apostle Otten, who will be travelling to Albania in April.

20 will be there.

Soul care for Albania comes under the ministration of the New Apostolic Church in North Rhine-Westphalia. Over 20 people there have already registered for the European Youth Day and will take part in Düsseldorf in May 2009. Thanks go for this to the donations by the youth of Krefeld.
